Social media, television, and AI

What can poetry and philosophy help us understand about digital media?

My essays look at what media let us do with language, images, and voices. On TikTok, for example, a recorded voice can be performed again and again by different bodies.

Poetic form offers a way to describe these experiences. A television cliffhanger, like a line break in a poem, separates a unit of form from a unit of meaning.

enjambment Poetic form: A sentence or phrase continuing beyond the end of a line.

My writing on AI asks what happens when language becomes something we generate with a machine. It draws on automatic writing, Surrealism, and the history of attention without assuming that a model works like a human mind.
