Subjectivity, language, and shared life

What if the self is not something enclosed inside us?

I study philosophers who question the idea of a self contained within its own interior life. Their work asks how thought, language, and shared experience already place us outside ourselves.

One strand follows Bataille and Foucault through Nancy and Agamben. Another compares Patočka and Deleuze, who challenge Platonism from very different positions.

The question is not how to escape into another world. It is how to understand our life in this one: with others, in language, and in an environment we already share.
